Apollo and Diana (Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, 1757). Fresco (200x185cm) at Villa Valmarana, Vicenza.
In Roman (/Greek) mythology, Apollo and Diana (Artemis) are the twin children of Jupiter (Zeus) and Latona (Leto). Apollo is the god of sun, truth, music/arts, prophecy, medicine, etc. Diana is the goddess of the hunt, moon, wild animals, chastity, etc.
The Western Brothers, painted by John Singleton Copley in 1783 when the brothers were about 15 and 16 years old. Painting’s flickr link provides nice (if rather sad) background summary on the brothers and Western family.
